Statement asking government to publish the Namibia Air feasibility study
An office statement dated 22 July 2026 reads the Government Gazette of 8 July 2026 as an Air Services Act application for seven Embraer jets, and asks that the feasibility study be published before the Transport Commission decides.
The office PDF says the Gazette notice is a request to operate seven Embraer jets at an estimated US$36 million (about N$600 million), 160 flights a week rising to 210 by year four, and a claimed market of 800,000 passengers. It says interested parties have 21 days from publication to object.
The public asks recorded here are that the Minister of Works and Transport table the complete feasibility study and business model before the Commission decides; that the Minister of Finance publish the taxpayer exposure; that IPC will file representations in the objection window; and that if an appropriation for Namibia Air is brought before those conditions are met, the party will seek a remedy from an appropriate forum.
Figures about Air Namibia’s past accounts and later fuel-levy examples in the PDF are his reading of published reports. This page records the publish-the-study ask. It does not decide the licence.
