Windhoek briefing on tertiary fees after the state of the nation address
The Namibian reported a Friday media briefing in Windhoek in which Itula said the government's tertiary-fees approach had narrowed from the original no-fees pledge.
Martin Endjala dated the report 10 April 2026 and placed the briefing that Friday, after the state of the nation address on Wednesday. Itula said the original promise was no fees, and that the current arrangement covers tuition and registration for eligible undergraduate students.
He also discussed income thresholds and loans for non-tuition costs. Those are his remarks as published. This page does not decide the policy question.
The same article records a reply given earlier in the week by President Nandi-Ndaitwah to questions from Imms Nashinge. Readers should open the source for that reply.
