Itula replies to reports of a split with Nashinge
The Namibian reported that, speaking to Desert FM, Itula rejected Windhoek Observer reports of competing centres of power inside IPC.
Jane Kandetu wrote on 22 January 2026 that Itula called the Observer reports a distortion. He said Nashinge leads parliamentary work, while party strategy stays with the presidency and headquarters, and that the national general secretary chairs the parliamentary caucus.
He said he does not intend to carry on indefinitely, and that staying out of parliament was meant to leave room for younger leaders. The Observer article remains a separate source. Readers should open both.
