Closing remarks at the 2nd Namibia–EU Business Forum

Office closing remarks dated Wednesday 13 May 2026, Windhoek, at the 2nd Namibia–EU Business Forum. Two supplied PDFs carry the same text.

The remarks thank the Government, led at the forum by Ambassador Kaire Mbuende, and the European Union through Ambassador Martins. They record the extension of the Strategic Partnership Roadmap to 2030, a framing of up to €20 billion in private investment through the Global Gateway, and a pipeline of 30 bankable Namibian projects.

Three public asks are put on the record: disaggregate the €20 billion by grant, concessional debt, commercial debt, and equity; table the 30 projects in the National Assembly with beneficial-ownership disclosure; and bring the accompanying Bills through Parliament with consultation.

The remarks also discuss MeatCo market-access slides, a Kelp Blue licensing delay, and NIPDB as a workaround around line ministries. Those are his remarks at the forum. This page does not decide the investment figures.
