Imms Nashinge appointed to the parliamentary opposition office
The Namibian reported that Itula appointed Imms Nashinge leader of the official opposition in the National Assembly, while a court challenge continued.
Martin Endjala's 13 April 2025 report says the appointment was made the day before. Nashinge was described as IPC national spokesperson and shadow minister of home affairs, immigration, safety and security.
The paper said Itula linked the decision to discussions with senior party members so parliament could carry out its functions, and that Nashinge would hold the office while the party continued a court challenge.
The same article quoted politicians and analysts who criticised the appointment and warned of two centres of authority. Their comments are in the source. This page does not adopt them.
